About Gerron Levi
A graduate of the University of California, Berkeley and the Howard University, School of Law, Gerron Levi is an attorney and serves as Assistant Director of the Legislative Department at the AFL-CIO, a federation of over 50 national and international labor organizations. She lobbies the U.S. Congress, Senate and the Executive Branch on national policy affecting fair wages and working conditions, health care, pensions, workplace safety and health. She works with both Democrats and Republicans to build a majority of votes in Congress.
Gerron Levi presents at legislative conferences across the country and has been a consistent spokesperson on forums, radio programs and in print media. While serving as legislative assistant for U.S. Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) on judiciary issues, she helped the Senator draft important campaign finance legislation and pass a ban on assault weapons. Gerron Levi also served on the staff of Congressman Gus Savage (D-IL) where she worked on environmental issues and constituent services.
COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT
Gerron Levi is an active member of the Woodmore community. She has served as a member of the Board of Directors for the Woodmore Homeowners Association, as the community’s newsletter editor, and is a founding member of the Woodmore Friendship Council, which seeks to build a greater sense of community through events that bring neighbors and communities together. The Council’s inaugural garden tour was featured in the July/August 2005 edition of the national “Homes of Color� magazine.
Ms. Levi served as a member of the Prince George’s County Council’s Church Road task force and as a member of the Bowie and Vicinity Master Plan developing tier focus group. She is an active member of her church, From the Heart Church Ministries, and her loves include skiing, swimming, hiking, biking and just about any outdoor activity.
