District 23A: Are We Preparing for Our Economic Future?

Global competition is on the horizon. Good American jobs are being off-shored to China, India and elsewhere; good health care benefits are being reduced and quality pension plans frozen at corporate giants such as Lockheed Martin and Verizon due, in part, to global competition. Gas and energy prices have skyrocketed as growing economies in China and India place new demands on world energy supplies in the race to challenge America’s economic supremacy.

In addition to fighting for state dollars to build new schools and better roads and transportation for our district, our state leadership must have an eye on the economic future.

I believe it is critically important that District 23A and Prince George's County take three steps to prepare for the county's economic future.
